A Warrant has been Issued for My Arrest by the Municipal
Court. Can You Help Me?
- You do not have to attend the hearings unless notified by our office
that your attendance is required. However, you must call our office
immediately after receiving notices of hearings to confirm that we have
also received those settings.
- You are entitled to have a jury decide whether you violated the traffic
laws. However, a jury trial usually takes most of a day to complete
and is expensive. If you want a jury trial, you must consult with our
office for the appropriate fee. Our usual $60 fee does not include a
trial by jury.
- Although every case is different, it is not unusual for cases to
take 8 to 14 months before they are resolved.
- We will try to get your case dismissed. However, if, in our professional
judgment, we believe it is not possible, and your ticket is for a moving
violation, we will ask the Court to let you attend a defensive driving
course. You will be required to pay some court fees and the cost of
the course, attend the course and take the certificate of completion
to the municipal court or a El Paso Police Department substation within
90 days. After you provide proof that you have completed the course
and have current insurance, the Court will dismiss your case. However,
if you do not pay the fees, attend the course and take the completed
certificate to the court, the Court will change its decision and will
find you guilty. You will then be responsible for paying the fine and
your insurance company will be notified that you were found guilty,
which will most likely result in an increase in your insurance premium.
It is your responsibility to sign up for, pay for and attend the
class. Do not sign up for the class until you are told by our office
to do so. If you attend the class before the Court orders you to take
it, you might not receive credit for your attendance and will have
to pay for and attend the class again.
If you do not want to take defensive driving classes and we decide
based on the evidence to plead guilty on your behalf, we will ask
the court to reduce your fine. The amount of the fine is strictly
up to the judge.
- We charge a flat fee of $60.00 for the first moving offense and $30
for each additional charge per citation which is for legal fees ONLY.
This amount is non-refundable. Once your case ends, if your case is
not dismissed, you will be ordered to pay a fine and/or court costs.
We will send you a letter informing you of the amount the Court ordered
you to pay. You will be responsible for paying all fees and costs.
- Yes, if your citation was issued by the El Paso Police Department
or the UTEP Police Department, you can hire us on line. Before paying,
you must read this section and then go to the pay section, where you
will read the contract, give us the necessary information and pay
using PayPal (you can use your credit card or debit your bank account).
If you have any questions, please contact us first before paying. If
your ticket was not issued by the El Paso Police Department or if you
want representation on warrants, please contact
us.
