Wills Haven't made a will? You need one! Why make a will? In Texas, if you die without a will, your spouse gets 1/3 of your noncommunity property and your children will get the rest. You need a will so you may decide how your property is divided! If you have minor children, you need to designate a guardian to look after them in case of death. If you have property or funds for your children, you need to designate a trustee to administer those funds and take care of the property. We do most simple wills for $100.00. DWI & Occupational Licenses If you get charged with driving while intoxicated in Texas, your driver’s license will likely be suspended forty days after the date you are arrested for a minimum of 90 days. If your job depends on you driving, you may be able to get an occupational driver’s license which will allow you to drive for matters related to your employment. If charged you will also need an attorney to represent you in your criminal case.	Other Criminal Matters We have extensive experience trying criminal cases. Mr. Melendez served for over four years in the El Paso County Public Defender’s Office and Mr. Williams was an assistant district attorney for over two years. We have each been handling criminal cases for over ten years. Juvenile Cases Has your child been charged with a crime? In El Paso County, your child is required to have an attorney represent him in his case. Both Mr. Melendez and Mr. Williams have represented juveniles in the juvenile justice system since 1995. Adoptions Are you raising your grandchildren without formal legal rights over them? You may need more than a power of attorney to obtain insurance for them, get them in school, get them appropriate medical care in a crisis, get a passport, or obtain other important services for them. It may be in the child’s best interest for you to adopt them or become their permanent managing conservator. We can help!
